After showing early promise as a musician, learning guitar, bass and piano as a child

Blake Scott started to take on the role as a listener and organizer,

as well as a player. At the age of thirteen, he was performing nightly with the booking agency of Four Par Productions.

By the late sixties, he took on his first recording that launched an extreme interest in the making of music.

His energy and enthusiasm kept him

extremely busy during the seventies, making Blake one of the most sought after keyboard

players in North Carolina (his home State). Not only was the

music flowing from his mind and fingers, but his ability as a vocalist had him singing lead in

nearly all his performances. It was the joining of a

popular N.C. group (Ezrah Storm) that moved Blake's talent to Nashville, Tennessee.

This was a major turning point in his life. Working vigorously with

Ezrah Storm and Bobby Smith Productions, the originality began to flow. Blake's songs were

now being performed and recorded by some of the hottest musicians

around! It was the warmth and the beautiful environment that brought Blake back to his home

ground of N.C. to begin writing and recording again. Upon the death of a

close family member, and the transition of music in the early eighties, Blake joined his

fathers corporation as Vice President in maintaining the family business.

He also became Chairman of the Board of the Marina Committee of Pamlico Plantation in which

he played a major role in the development of

their yacht Basin and the design of this successful real estate development.

But music was still in his blood. So in 1985 he organized a group of some of the best musicians in the

area and recorded his song "Money Grows On Trees"

which was entered into a national CMJ College Music contest that won not only first place, but Blake

had also entered another ballad,"Little Girl", under his initials

WBS111 which won second place, all by the voting of the public! This led him to the front door steps

of Epic Records. The forming of

Ivory Recording Studio Productions took place next. Still the need for private writing took him to a

100 acre farm on the Pamlico River,

where he married his beautiful wife Emily and set up his own private recording facility.

Massive quantities of writing and recording took place during this time. With a growing demand of live

sound engineering, Blake at one time

did as many as one-hundred ninety five live sound performances in one year, while producing Artist(s),

maintaining the hectic schedule

of the studio, and performing live with his new band "Star". It was at this time

Blake was asked to run one of the most highly

regarded music stores in Washington, (Cha-Rich Music). Blake took the business beyond

expectations! First he moved the store into a new

location and catered more to a pro end market. This led to the introduction of new

artist(s) on a much higher level, where they saw Blake as

being an "All In One package". Artist(s) could purchase equipment, record, and get produced by Blake.

Through the Performing Arts Council, Blake was working with Grammy winners such as "David Holt",

"Nena Freelon", "The Ink Spots",

"The Drifters" and many more. Blake also worked with many other regional acts, including groups like "Maurice Williams and the

Zodiacs", The "Embers" (which consisted of members Blake had grown up playing music with),

"Chairman Of The Board" and the list goes on! He was

commissioned to do Audio Post for CBS on a two hour special "On The Road With Charles Karalt" on

"Schools of America", where

Blake produced a remote recording of a fifty piece marching band.

The decision to move his family into a new home and new recording studio came in 1992.

This is where Blake designed and had constructed "Star Trak Recording Studio".

The meeting of Wolfman Jack and Lonnie Napier set off a long lasting relationship which put Wolfman recording three albums at

Star Trak. Blake performed, engineered, and co-produced all three projects. Wolfman had Blake as his recording and live

engineer putting him now working with artist(s) such as Joe Walsh,The Phil Collins horn section and many more major Artist.

Upon the death of Wolfman, Blake continued recording and producing groups for Artist and Record companies. The demand was so large for his recording and producing skills that he decided to focus all his attention to Star Trak Recording Studio, the studio he had originally designed for himself. Artist(s) were now coming from all over the United States to record at Blake's facility. In 1996 Blake received three Trailblazer nominations for "Studio of the Year," "Engineer of the Year", and "Songwriter of the Year", by Airplay International (King Eagle Awards) , in which he was presented "Engineer of the Year" at Music City (Nashville Tennessee) Blake was also nominated "1997 Songwriter Trailblazer of the year"Award. During this same period, Blake was becoming heavily involved with the N.C. State Film Commission. This was now introducing him to people such as Bill Arnold (State Film Commissioner) and Frank Cappra Jr. (Screen Gems). Blakes talents are still called upon for his opinions and involvement in Post Production in the State of N.C.. It was at these meetings that Blake was introduced to Multi Platinum and Gold Artist / Austin Roberts, which later lead to the development of "Hurricane Productions" in which Blake is President of the company. Blake produced the CD "Donna Goodhart - Music From The Heart" in which he played nearly all the instruments and the album won "2000 Producers Choice" Award by Air Play International. He now resides in N.C. with his wife and two daughters. His skills range far and wide covering Rock and Roll to Country, Rap to Gospel or Commercials to New Age. His dedication to music is unlimited and continues to influence all of those he works with. Blake Scott is a winner and a team player!
